Liz Butler’s work is held in several major collections including the Government Art Collection, Abbot Hall Gallery, the Royal Collection, Harewood House, the National Postal Archive, Qingdao Art Museum and the Diploma Collection of the Royal Watercolour Society.
She is well known for her miniature paintings of gardens, and her use of pure watercolour. Liz’s work tends towards the small and intricate. More recently, she has been expanding her scale to encompass larger scale subject matter.
In 1996 she was elected a Member of the Royal Watercolour Society, with whom she exhibits regularly in their Annual Spring and Autumn Exhibitions at Bankside Gallery. In 2019 the Small Paintings Group elected her to their membership. She was represented by the Francis Kyle Gallery from 1976 until 2014, having three solo exhibitions and taking part in many of their themed group exhibitions.
